  • New Elementary SchoolRequires Adobe Acrobat Reader - An elementary school to be built on Lee-Davis Road will help relieve overcrowding in the eastern part of Hanover County. The school will help the County meet its long-term goal of maintaining low student-to-teacher ratios while reducing the immediate reliance upon modular classrooms. It is planned to open in September 2008.
  • Facilities ImprovementRequires Adobe Acrobat Reader - To ensure a safe and comfortable learning environment, a plan is in place to accomplish anticipated maintenance projects for older school facilities. Each of the 18 schools built prior to 2000 will receive needed improvements which could include heating and air conditioning systems, roofs and parking lot improvements.
  • Trades-Based CenterRequires Adobe Acrobat Reader - A 38,600 square foot Trades-Based Center, proposed to be constructed adjacent to Hanover High School, will provide courses and programs including building trades (such as carpentry, electricity and plumbing), facilities management, cosmetology, small engines and automotive servicing. The Center, which is planned to open in 2008, will allow the school district to provide these services within our County, to prepare more students for the workforce which awaits them.
  • Technology InfrastructureRequires Adobe Acrobat Reader - Network upgrades will provide greater speed, capacity and flexibility for the school district’s operating systems which are used daily by more than 40,000 students, parents, employees and community members.
