Parks & Libraries Projects - $9,718,000
Improvement Projects
- Pole Green Park
- New athletic fields, picnic shelters, walking trails, restrooms,
playgrounds, additional parking, concession stand, lighting for
7 fields, improvements to the skate park and an addition
to the Community Center.
- Poor Farm Park
- New athletic fields, a skate park, additional parking, walking
trails, a new volleyball area, lighting for football and soccer
fields, BMX track, a sledding hill and construction of a storage
facility.
- Courthouse Park
- New athletic fields, irrigation, lighting for a multi-purpose
field, walking trails, parking lot and landscaping.
- Hanover Wayside Park
- Additional picnic shelter, restrooms, tot lot and trails.
- School Fitness/Playground
Equipment
- All 17 elementary and middle schools will receive funds to select
playground and/or fitness equipment and for surfacing material.
New Development Projects
- Taylor Park
- Walking trails, soccer fields, picnic shelter and enlargement
of the Taylor Complex Building for recreational activities.
- Montpelier Park
- Soccer fields, additional walking trails, large picnic shelter,
paved play area and potentially other improvements identified
through community input.
- Doswell Park
- Develop old Doswell School property improvements to include
walking trails.
- Horse Trails
- Property improvements to include multi-use (horse, bike, walking)
trails and parking; this property is located at the intersection
of Woodside Lane and Jamestown Road just east of Ashland.
Library Project
• Mechanicsville
Library
- Build a new 17,500 square foot library on a new site to replace
the existing 5,700 square foot facility.
